As I was doing some dental research I came across some information that exposes some detrimental dental practices that I found very disturbing and would like to share my discovery.
According to Dr. Nara about 90 percent of all root canals performed are unnecessary and according to Dr. Westin Price, Dr. Meinig and Dr. Robert Jones they are in fact extremely dangerous!
In the early 1920’s Dr. Westin Price concluded that root canals were problematic and with a team of 60 researchers began a 25 year investigation. What they discovered should have eliminated the practice of root canal therapy in Dentistry. Apparently there are bacteria that can be harbored in root filled teeth no matter how perfectly they’re done. These bacteria that get trapped inside the microtubules of the tooth, mutate and become toxin factories, can migrate throughout the body and can infect any organ, gland or tissue.
These toxins can get out into the bloodstream and cause degenerative diseases or make them worse. This is understood as focal infection. Dr. Price’s work was well documented in two volumes of 1,174 pages and in 25 articles. He observed many patients with crippling degenerative diseases that were not responding to treatment and suspected infected root canal teeth to be the source of the problem. So he began experiments by implanting a root filled tooth from a patient under the skin of a laboratory animal, usually a rabbit, he found that in almost every case the animal would develop the same disease as the patient, lose weight, and often times would die.
In one of those experiments, an infected tooth from a woman who suffered from severe arthritis was implanted beneath the skin of a healthy rabbit and within 48 hours the rabbit was crippled with arthritis. In 100% of over 300 cases, the rabbit would get the same illness as the patient from whom the tooth came, in less than one week.
Later, Dr. Price found he could embed small pieces of the root instead of the entire tooth, or pulverize the teeth and inject the powder and cause the same results. Eventually, he found that he could culture the bacteria found in a root filled tooth and inject the toxins from it into the laboratory animal and reproduce the disease from the toxins alone.
It is important to note that when he implanted uninfected natural teeth no adverse health effects resulted. Dr. Price also found that a large percentage of patients recovered from their illnesses after the root filled teeth were extracted.
Bill Henderson health and wellness reporter and author of the book “Cure Your Cancer” also hosts the popular radio show “How to Live Cancer-Free.” After 25 years as a cancer-prevention advocate speaking with thousands of cancer patients and doctors on and off the air, he says, “Two facts have jumped out at me from those many phone calls… First, the most common cause of all cancers is root canal-filled teeth and cavitation sites; and second, until a cancer patient gets rid of the root canal-filled teeth and cavitations, they don’t get well. You can take those two facts to the bank, folks.”
The primary bacteria in root canals found by Dr. Price included streptococcus, staphylococcus, and spirochetes. Bacteriologists today have confirmed that Price’s discoveries were accurate. They isolated in root canals the same strains of “streptococcus”, “staphylococcus” and “spirochetes”.
What Dr. Price reported and what he found with the tests which involved some 5,000 animals over the 25 year period was root canal distilled teeth, no matter how good they looked, or how free they were from symptoms, always remained infected. In spite of the thousands of experiments conducted and of the thoroughness and excellence of his root canal research, all of Dr. Price’s 25 years of scientific efforts were so well covered up that there is hardly a dentist alive today who has ever heard about his discoveries.
Why has this information never been made public?
Dr. Price’s research was suppressed and buried over 70 years ago by the autocratic action of a minority group of dentists and physicians who refused to accept the focal infection theory. The “focal infection” theory says that the bacteria can migrate out from a central focal infection – such as teeth roots, teeth or inflamed gum tissue. The new location can be any organ or tissue, and the new colony will be a new source of infection in a body plagued by chronic or recurrent infections. This was really revolutionary thinking in the early 1920’s, and now this theory is well accepted as it has been demonstrated and proven many times over.
More recently, a 1998 study involving 26 case subjects, published in the American Academy of Periodontology, concluded that the actual root canal sites as well as the blood samples of all subjects contained anaerobic bacteria.
Dr. Robert Jones looked directly at the relationship between root canals and breast cancer. His 5-year study involving over 300 women with breast cancer found that 93 percent of them had root canals. Interestingly, he also found that, in most cases, the cancer tumors were located on the same side of the body as the root canal.
It is important to understand that not everyone who has ever had a root canal is made sick by it, even though it is understood that every root canal filling does leak and bacteria do invade its structure. The variable factor is the vitality of the person’s immune system. Some people in good health are able to control the pathogens which escape from their teeth into other areas of their body. However over time, most people with root canals do seem to develop some kinds of systemic symptoms which they did not have before.
Dr. Meinig practiced dentistry for 47 years and in all of that time he had never heard about the experiments that were conducted by Dr. Westin Price. He had performed many root canals in his dental practice and when he discovered Dr. Price’s research he was outraged. Dr. Meinig is now responsible for bringing Dr. Price’s work to light and shares this information in his book, The Root Canal Cover-Up.
