How Pyorrhea Can Affect You

Pyorrhea can affect you in a number of ways but may not affect you in all the ways you think. You may not exhibit all of the classic symptoms of pyorrhea or you may not notice them but you need to take action as soon as possible. If not then you may be experiencing the more severe effects of advanced pyorrhea.

The Early Effects Of Pyorrhea

As pyorrhea first begins to manifest then your gums are the place to look. They will begin to exhibit a number of unusual characteristics that will help you to know that something is wrong and that something just might be pyorrhea. But know first of all that pain will oftentimes not be among the symptoms of pyorrhea. Many people think that pain is the sign that a condition is serious but this is not always the case.

The early effects on your gums will be that they are tender to the touch and they may be red or purple in color and swollen. Pyorrhea may also cause your gums to bleed upon touch or when you brush your teeth. You may also have bad breath.

How Pyorrhea Can Affect You If It Is Allowed To Progress

Like most dental conditions left unattended pyorrhea will only get worse with time. Pyorrhea and its build-up of bad bacteria can cut down into the jawbone and cause bone and tissue damage. Severe enough damage will require surgery. Pocket reduction procedures, regenerative procedures, crown lengthening, and soft tissue grafts are all surgeries that may be the necessary repercussions of pyorrhea that is not treated soon enough. You will be affected by having to undergo dental surgery and by having to pay for it.

Avoiding These Effects

To avoid these effects, take care of your mouth. Brush, floss, and use natural products to kill bad bacteria. Basic dental care practices plus natural products will do a lot to keep your mouth healthy.

Pyorrhea can affect you by changing the look and feel of your mouth and even by making dental surgery a necessity. You can avoid these effects but you have to do the work. Otherwise you may someday be intimately acquainted with how pyorrhea can affect you.
